Intensive reading is the "solid base", and writing is the "stone". Intensive reading is the foundation of writing. Students develop critical thinking through intensive reading with questions and ideas that make thinking complex and deep. Teachers will teach students writing effectively to expound their own thoughts and effectively improve students' core writing skills. The course allows students to learn through pre-class reading, class discussion and appreciation, article correction and after-class practice.
Intensive reading of classics and award-winning books with depth and breadth is a magic weapon to expand your writing ability. Share writing knowledge and stories in the classroom through self-directed learning and independent exploration. Provide writing skills and advice on writing ideas and article structure while commenting on each assignment, and give specific suggestions for improvement of writing skills, the ability to sort out opinions, clear logic, write structure, word selection and sentence construction. Through the in-depth reading of the content, students are inspired to explore and think about the inner life and the outer world around them, and form unique critical thinking.
Reading is a priority in any grade. Emphasis is on learning about words, reading text with fluency and expression, and learning comprehension strategies. The student will read a variety of texts, which relate to all areas of the curriculum. Reading comprehension strategies will be applied in all subjects, with emphasis on materials that reflect life, society, and growing up.
The intensive Reading & Writing program is based on the writing process with all grammar, usage, mechanics, and spelling skills introduced, practiced and reviewed in the context of writing.
